Greenwood Dairy Farm located in Canton, NY was started in 1978 with 70 cows and has expanded to currently include 1500. It is a first generation farm (whose owner in fact did not come from a farming background).

In 2012, Greenwood Dairy started looking into the option of a complete mix digester. Construction of the digester began in 2013, and in 2014 it was operational. Though they didn’t have significant troubles with odor prior to the addition of the digester, it has nonetheless helped the situation as well as improved relations with neighbors. Their solids/bedding production has been successful, and they are starting to see the economic benefits of the digester as well.
