Beyond their production of pork and beef, Bio Town Ag’s operation includes an anaerobic digester that recycles animal waste and other organic by-products to produce methane gas, which they use to power three generators, producing about 2500 kilowatts of electricity that goes back into the electric grid.
Other co-products of the digester process are liquid organic fertilizer and solids including potting soil and bedding material used in their cattle pens.
